Hello! Welcome to Tad's World. My birthplace is Nara, Japan and I've been in the U.S. for one year since fall, 2012.
In this blog, I'd like to show you what I'm interested in. For example, I like reading, playing video games and watching DVDs. Actually, I don't like sports and I'm really bad at playing sports! (I'm a kind of homebody. I know I should exercise more, though.)
I'm a university student now and I come to the United States to study English. I've already graduated from a university in Japan, and at that time, my major was psychology. So, I like topics of psychology, philosophy and religion etc. (I don't know much about them, though!)
One of my favorite genres of books is fiction, and I like Haruki Murakami, Franz Kafka, J.R.R Tolkien and so on. Actually, I've read almost all books in Japanese. I hope my English skills improve here and become able to read English books as easily as Japanese books someday!
This is the end of my first post. How about you? Would you introduce me to some English books you like?
(Thank you, my teacher. She has corrected my errors!)
Tad, I am pleased to see that we have some things in common! I too am a HOMEBODY! I am always getting made fun of by my friends because I never want to leave my house.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to make a few author recommendations, but I don't know if you can find these authors in Japanese. I HOPE SO. One of my recent favorite authors is: Carlos Ruiz Zafon. My favorite book (I read it in ENGLISH and SPANISH) is . It was a difficult book to read in my second language, but I loved it in English. I will think about more recommendations at a later date!
Thank you for your comment! Yours is the first comment I've got (through the Internet) in my life.
DeleteThank you also for your author recommendation. I googled Carlos Ruiz Zafon and found information about him. Some of his novels have been translated also into Japanese, they say. If I have a chance, I might try to read them.(I'm not sure I'll read them in English, though...)
